Cushing's Century Ride for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

"People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously.
This is how character is built."

Hi all,

We did it!

I peddled, you donated and together we raised over $4,500 towards the Leukemia
& Lymphoma Society's fight to cure Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease
and Myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Illinois cyclist combined raised over $450,000 and nationally the Lake Tahoe
ride raised over $6,000,000. Team in Training accounted for 1,250 of the
3,000 riders in America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride.

Thanks to my sister in law, Nancy, all the patient hero's names were embroidered
to my jersey and rode with me in spirit.

It was truly a beautiful bike ride. At the 80 mile mark, the scenic view helped to
keep my mind off the fast approaching 8 mile climb up 1000 feet to Spooner Point.
I feel deeply blessed to have been able to have the health to start the ride
and the energy to finish the ride.

Along my journey I often thought of the struggles that our patient hero's went
through and may be going through. As I gazed over the clear, motionless,
serene view of the lake I called to them in spirit to help me get through
the full 100 miles. I seemed to have an inspiring experience every hour of
the ride. I finally made it to the finish line after 11 hours, my cheering
section greeted me overjoyed, tired, hungry and sun burnt.

Thank you for your support emotionally, spiritually and monetarily.

Peace & Hugs,

Kathleen
